Require two-factor authentication

Workspace owners can make two-factor authentication (2FA) necessary for the full workspace. When this setting is on, all workspace members must set up 2FA on their account before they can open this workspace.

Only the workspace owner can change this setting. It is available on NocoDB Cloud (Enterprise plan) and licensed self-hosted deployments (Scale plan and above).

To require 2FA for a workspace:

  1. In the workspace sidebar, click Settings.
  2. Open the General tab.
  3. Select Security.
  4. Turn on Require two-factor authentication. A dialog opens.
  5. Confirm in the dialog.

Require two-factor authentication

If you don't have 2FA set up on your own account, the confirmation dialog warns that you will be locked out of the workspace until you set it up. Configure 2FA on your account first to avoid losing access.

When the setting is on:

Existing members without 2FANocoDB asks them to set up 2FA the next time they try to open the workspace.
New inviteesThey must complete the 2FA setup before they can open the workspace.
Members who already have 2FA on their accountNo change.
Members who sign in through SSO (for example, Google OAuth, SAML, OIDC)The requirement does not apply to them. They open the workspace as usual, because the SSO provider manages their authentication security.

To stop the requirement, turn off the setting. Some members turned on 2FA only for this policy. They can keep 2FA or remove it in their own Account Settings → Security.

To learn how members set up 2FA on their account, refer to Two-Factor Authentication.

Workspaces with an active subscription

You cannot delete a workspace that has an active paid subscription. NocoDB asks you to cancel the subscription first. It also gives a link directly to the Billing tab.

Cancel subscription before deleting workspace

Cancel the subscription in Billing. Then delete the workspace.

Leave workspace

If you do not need access to a workspace, you can leave it. After you leave, you cannot open the workspace until someone invites you again.

  1. In the workspace sidebar, click Settings.
  2. Open the General tab.
  3. Select Danger Zone.
  4. Click Leave Workspace.

Find workspace ID

Each workspace has a unique ID. You can find it in three places:

  • Open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar. The active workspace card shows WORKSPACE ID. Click the ID to copy it.
  • Go to Settings → General → Appearance. The ID is above the Name field. Click the ID to copy it.
  • When you open a workspace, read the ID in the URL.

Example:

https://app.nocodb.com/w7kjha1w/...

In this example, the workspace ID is w7kjha1w.
