Bring file and folder metadata from cloud storage platforms into NocoDB with automatic syncs.

Use File Storage Sync to import file and folder information from your cloud storage platform. It follows a predefined schema that makes storage data the same across systems. Use it to audit where files are, track sizes and types, and build file inventories across your drives.

Current supported sources include:

* Google Drive
* Dropbox
* Box

## Available Tables

Each table maps to a well-defined set of fields, so the structure stays the same. App Sync also includes relational fields that connect files to their folders.

### **FS\_File**

Represents file metadata from the connected storage platform.
**Key fields include:**

| Field                  | Description                                                 |
| ---------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Name**               | The file name.                                              |
| **File URL** | A direct link to the file in the source platform. |
| **File Thumbnail URL** | A link to the thumbnail of the file, where available. |
| **Size**               | The file size.                                              |
| **Mime Type** | The content type of the file. |
| **Description** | The file description, where the source provides one. |
| **Checksum** | The content checksum for change detection and verification. |

Each File links to its parent **Folder**.

### **FS\_Folder**

Represents folder metadata. Folders organize files into their hierarchy.
**Key fields include:**

| Field           | Description                                         |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Name**        | The folder name.                                    |
| **Folder URL** | A direct link to the folder in the source platform. |
| **Size** | The folder size, where the source provides it. |
| **Description** | The folder description, where available. |

Each folder links to the **Files** that it contains and to its parent **Folders**. This mirrors the source hierarchy.

## Metadata Fields

Each synced table in the File Storage category includes a set of metadata fields. These fields track the lifecycle, state, and origin of each record. They show how data flows from the external source into NocoDB. They are important for traceability, debugging, and audit requirements.

App Sync manages these metadata fields automatically. They are read-only.

| Field                 | Description                                                                                                                          |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **RemoteId** | The unique identifier of the record in the external source system. |
| **RemoteCreatedAt** | The timestamp when the record was first created in the source. |
| **RemoteUpdatedAt** | The timestamp of the most recent update in the source. |
| **RemoteDeleted** | Shows if the record was deleted in the source platform. App Sync uses this especially when the delete behavior is set to **Ignore**. |
| **RemoteDeletedTime** | The timestamp when the record was deleted in the source, if applicable. |
| **RemoteRaw** | The raw payload from the provider for that record. Use it for troubleshooting, verification, or advanced integrations. |
| **RemoteNamespace** | The origin drive or account, depending on the provider. |
| **RemoteSyncedAt** | The last timestamp when NocoDB synced this record. |
| **SyncConfigId** | An internal reference to the sync configuration for this record. |
| **SyncRunId** | The sync run that last updated this record. |
| **SyncProvider** | The external service (Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box) that the record came from. |

## Good to know

* File Storage Sync imports **metadata** about files and folders: names, locations, sizes, and related details. It does not import the file contents.

## Availability

* App Sync is available on **NocoDB Cloud** (Plus plan and above) and licensed self-hosted deployments (Business plan and above).
