# Sync with Data Source

Sync changes made in an external data source with NocoDB through Meta Sync.

To sync changes made in the external data source with NocoDB, open **External Database** in **Base Settings** → **Manage**. Select the data source for which you want to sync metadata. Then do these steps:

1. Click the `Meta Sync` tab.
2. Optional: to refresh the Sync state, click the `Reload` button. The `Sync State` column shows the metadata changes that NocoDB finds.
3. To sync the metadata changes, click the `Sync Now` button. When the sync is complete, the `Sync State` column shows the updated state.

After the sync is complete, the `Sync State` column shows the updated state.\
The header of the sync modal also shows `Tables metadata is in Sync`.
